A Whiskey River Princess Blog Tour and Giveaway!

A Whiskey River Princess
Blog Tour and Giveaway

☆ Blog Tour & Giveaway ☆

A Whiskey River Princess (Whiskey River Brides, #3) by Theresa Oliver is available now!

Journey back to 1870 Wyoming, where a princess learns the harsh realities of life and a rancher has all but given up on finding happiness.

She’s looking for adventure in the West, but discovers more. He’s sure he’ll never find love, until she lands at his door. Together, Gabriella and Dirk will discover a spark that even a blizzard can’t quench.

Gabriella Grimaldi is new to Whiskey River—a quiet frontier town, where those who dream of a different life gather under the big, open sky. Escaping a life of faux friends and duty, Gabriella forsakes her life of fortune and runs away. What she gets instead is an education in the ways of the world.

Not far from town, Dirk Price is settling in for another long winter in Whiskey River, when a lost young woman shows up at his door. In the light of the fireside, Gabriella and Dirk find themselves unfreezing their chilly hearts and protecting one another against not only the cold, but from evil forces. Can they let love in, or will they turn away from happiness when danger knocks at the door?

In the depths of winter under the weight of a blizzard, return to the sleepy, snowy banks of Whiskey River, Wyoming, in A Whiskey River Princess.

EXCERPT:

Dirk had just arrived at home and was enjoying the fire, wondering if he should go into town in the morning. By the way it was howling outside, he was sure to be snowed in. But he felt assured that Billy would open the livery stable for him. Also, the sheriff often stopped by first thing every morning to check in.
Dirk had just poured a steaming hot cup of coffee when he thought he heard something outside. Dismissing it as just the storm, he turned back to the fire… until Buster started barking.
Dirk pulled his rifle off its holder above the fireplace and cocked it as he walked slowly to the door. He heard footsteps, and then there was a loud thud on the porch. Next, Buster started whimpering and pawing at the door to come in. Dirk just hoped nothing had happened to him.
Flinging the door open, he raised the rifle to his shoulder, ready. His eyes widened in shock, and he quickly lowered his weapon. For lying on the porch, nearly frozen to death… was a woman.
“Oh my God!” Dirk quickly put down the gun and swept her into his arms. “You’re freezing!” He carried her inside and laid her on the sofa, knowing she needed the warmth of the fire. Buster followed him in and stood by her side, whimpering softly.
The woman’s hair was dark brown, almost black. Even though her hair was a stringy mess, wet from snow and matted, she still looked beautiful. Dirk gasped when he saw a cut and bruises on her cheek. How anyone could do that to a lady was beyond him. She also wore a ratty old coat and men’s clothes, uncharacteristic in contrast with her fine features… despite the bruises. Just then, she opened her blue eyes and tried to focus on him. “Please, help me, sir,” she begged in a heavy French accent.

EXCERPT:
“You can bathe first if you like,” she replied, as she sat back down on the rocking chair. “Then we can rinse out the tub and fill it again. I’ll wait.”

He chuckled. “No, I meant that you can use the water first and then I’ll use the same water next. That is, unless you’d like to bathe after me.”

Gabriella looked at him appalled, and quickly shook her head. “No, thank you. That’s fine.” Then she walked into the utility room and closed the door behind her.

Dirk smiled as he shook his head, and then walked over to the stove to check the last two buckets of water. In a short while, he checked it and the water was warm, so he picked them up and went to the utility room.

Dirk walked in without thinking. He kept his head down as he carried the water, not noticing that she was already in the tub.

“What are you doing?” Gabriella shrieked, quickly grabbing one of the towels to cover herself. “Get out!”

Dirk looked up, startled. “What are you doing?” he asked, looking only at her eyes. “I told you the water was almost ready. Not that it was!”

She looked around, flustered. “I only heard that the water was ready. Now, get out.”

He held up the two buckets with ease. “I was just bringing in the last two buckets of warm water—”

“I said get out. Now!” she screamed, trying desperately to cover herself the best she could with the towel. “Never mind the buckets. Get out.”

A devilish smile spread across his lips as he raised one eyebrow. “Oh? You want me to leave the buckets?”

“Yes, and get out.”

“As you wish, your highness.” A smirk appeared on his face as he walked over to the tub and poured one of the buckets over her head.

She gasped and flailed her arms as the warm water rushed over her, looking like a drowned rat. “What did you do to me? Get out!”

He laughed. “You asked for it.” He poured the second bucket of warm water over her head as she flailed her arms, gasping. Then he carried both buckets to the door and turned around. “You know, it didn’t have to be this way.” As he walked out, he shut the door behind him, chuckling to himself.

Vous ĂȘtes une brute sauvage! Gabriella shouted, and then something hit the other side of the door and crashed loudly to the floor.

Wolves' Gambit Book Release!

Wolves' Gambit Book Release!
Wolves' Gambit
The Free Wolves, Book 3
By: J.P. MacLayne

NOW LIVE & ENTER THE GIVEAWAY!

Wolves' Gambit by P.J. MacLayne is available now!Incredible shifter urban fantasy romance: Lori hasn't failed in a mission yet. This one may be the exception.

Title: Wolves' Gambit
Author: P.J. MacLayne
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Release Date: 15/04/2018
Series: The Free Wolves, Book 3 (stand-alone)
Cover Designer: K.M. Guth

BLURB:

Wolf-shifter Lori Grenville was rescued from near-slavery and a brutal pack leader by the Free Wolves. To pay back the favor, she's dedicated her life to helping others in the same situation, leading shifters to safety and a new start, risking her life in the process. She's faced down alphas and has no qualms in
undermining pack structure.

Now she's challenged with the task of restoring an alpha to his rightful place. If she gets it right, she can stop a war from ripping apart two packs and spreading across an entire state. If she fails, she'll be among the first to die.

There's still the option of walking away and letting the Jaeger and Destin packs destroy each other. That means she'll fail in her original mission of rescuing the daughter of the Jaeger alpha before the girl is forced into marriage for political gain.

Lori hasn't failed in a mission yet. This one may be the exception.

EXCERPT:

She didn't have time to shift. Instead, Lori threw herself to the ground and rolled. The wolf missed, but swiveled on its back paws, bunched its muscles, and prepared for a second attack. Without a weapon, she could only hold it off for a few seconds.

So she did what any human would do. She screamed. Only she dropped the pretense and screamed with her mental voice. The sound of a rabbit's dying scream. The shrill, high-pitched cry for help didn't need to be aimed at only one person. It would wake everyone within range. There'd be a lot of headaches in a very short time.

The wolf stopped in its tracks and shook its head. That was all the time Lori needed. A metal snow shovel had been left leaning against the building after the last snow months ago, and she grabbed it. She gripped it in both hands and swung.

Her aim was true. The shovel thudded against the side of the wolf's head and it staggered. But Lori knew of a more vulnerable spot. She adjusted the direction of the next swing. The awkward angle resulted in a less forceful blow, but still, she hit the tender nose.

The wolf snarled, its teeth glistening, and leaped.

She whirled out the way and swung the shovel at the same time. The blade met the wolf's front haunches. A cracking sound sent a chill down Lori's spine. The wooden handle was breaking. She'd only get one more hit. It had to be a good one.

The wolf heard it too. Out of reach of her makeshift weapon, it paced, tongue hanging from its mouth. Left to right, right to left. Only Lori's eyes followed it. She watched for the telltale signs. The tightening of muscles, the focusing of the eyes, a lowering of the head. The wolf was toying with her. Her heartbeat kept pace with the wolf's steps. Too fast.

But where was the guard? He'd had time to come to her rescue. Was this one of Carlson's men? She'd been a fool to trust him. He was just another pack leader. Take advantage of those less powerful and discard them when they are no longer useful.

She wondered how sharp the edge of the blade was. Sharp enough to rip through flesh? There was no time to check. She needed to stay alert for every twitch.

The charge happened in the blink of an eye. One second he was on the ground, the next flying towards her. She didn't wait. With a loud cry, she held the shovel straight in front of her like a lance and ran to meet the attack.
