Excerpts:
Madison took a deep breath and let her elbow fly into Pete’s chest. “Get off me, you brute!”
“Ah. Don’t be like that, sugar!” Pete cooed in her ear, unfazed. As he pulled her down the walkway, people got out of their way, letting them pass even as Madison looked at them pleadingly. His lips groped her neck greedily. “Today’s our wedding day!”
Madison struggled with all her might against Pete’s grasp, but he was too strong. “I’m going to kill you if you don’t let me go!”
Pete laughed so hard that tears came to his eyes as he grabbed her wrists. “Kill me, will you?” A sly smile spread across his lips. “You don’t have the guts.” His lips descended toward hers, but she managed to free one of her hands, and pushed his face away. Then she stomped hard on his foot, and he released her with a yowl.
“Someone help me!” she yelled as she ran down the walkway, just as the sheriff stepped out of his office.
“Go inside,” he ordered as he looked only at Pete. “I’ll take care of this. Don’t you worry.”
Madison sighed in relief. “Thank you, Sheriff.”
Jessica stepped out and wrapped her arm around Madison, but she pulled away. “Go inside, Mrs. Henley. I’ll be fine.”
Jessica looked into the sheriff’s office at the children, and then down the walkway toward a steaming mad Pete, and the sheriff holding his hands over his guns. “Come with me,” she pleaded.
Madison shook her head. “I have to face him.”
Jessica forced a smile as she nodded, then hurried into the sheriff’s office and huddled the children under the desk.
“Leave the lady alone, McGregor!” Sheriff Daxton Clark said, staring him down. “If you don’t leave now, I’ll arrest you for harassing a lady. Now, git!”
Pete narrowed his eyes at Madison over the sheriff’s shoulder. “This isn’t over between us, Miss Taylor. Mark my words. I won’t quit until you’re my wife!” he growled.

#Excerpt:

Being the gentleman that he was, he let her go in first to dress for bed—which had quickly become their nightly ritual.

She quickly undressed, changed into her nightgown, and climbed into bed. “I’m decent!” She shook her head, unable to believe that she had said that. Knowing Colton, he would have something to say.
He came in smiling but, to her surprise, said nothing about her comment. He stripped off his shirt, revealing the tanned, strong muscles of his chest as a devilish smile lit his lips. “One thing I am going to miss is your snoring.”

She laughed. “I do not snore!”

He chuckled as he slid off his boots. She couldn’t believe it, but even his feet were attractive.

“Yes, you do,” he said as he blew out the candle.

“Do not.”

“Do, too.” When she didn’t say anything more, he replied, “Good night.”

“Good night.” She turned over, but try as she might, she just couldn’t sleep. “Colton?”

“Yes?”

“Thank you… for everything.”

“’Twas my pleasure, my lady. Now, get some sleep.”

Writer Wednesday: Trinity Ford: Clean Historical Romance

Writer Wednesday:

Trinity Ford: Clean Historical Romance

For today’s Writer Wednesday, I wanted to feature a friend of mine who first turned me on to writing clean historical romance. When she first suggested I try writing clean historical romance, the thought hadn’t even crossed my mind. Now, I have a ten-book clean historical romance series, Whiskey River Brides. The first book, Whiskey River, is coming February 2018 with Hot Tree Publishing.

Trinity Ford had also turned me on to writing shorter reads, as well. Most people today enjoy shorter reads to enjoy on commutes to work, when on break, etc. All of Trinity Ford’s books are short reads, but she masterfully weaves the story with well-developed characters and plot lines.

Trinity Ford was the first clean historical romance writer that I ever read. She lives in Texas, the backdrop of her books. She uses Texas’ rich history in her books, helping the state and its inhabitants to come alive for the reader.

If you’re looking for a good clean historical romance, then try reading Trinity Ford’s books. She won’t disappoint.

BIOGRAPHY:
Trinity Ford hails from the great state of Texas, where her Southern romance books are rooted. She's published the Wanted: Wives in the West series, which is a clean, historical romance set in the fledgling town of Fort Worth, Texas.

In addition, Trinity Ford was invited to participate in the 45-author series called American Mail Order Brides, with many USA Today and NY Times Bestselling authors, where she voiced the story of Della: Bride of Texas. Della is a book with dual series appeal, as it is also the 4th book in Wanted: Wives in the West.

All of the books in Trinity's series are free of vulgar language, have closed bedroom doors (no sex scenes) and include a happily ever after ending.

The books include snippets of the rich history of Fort Worth, Texas - including Hell's Half Acre, the cattle drives and the beginnings of the Stock Show and Rodeo. Characters from earlier books make an appearance in later ones, but each book can be enjoyed as a standalone read, allowing you to pick up at any point and read without getting lost.

Trinity Ford resides in Ft. Worth, Texas with her three children, a chihuahua, a husky and three cats.

Trailer Tuesday: Cambria, by: Theresa Oliver

Trailer Tuesday:
Cambria (Cambria Series, #1)
By: Theresa Oliver

Today, I thought I’d share the book trailer of my book Cambria (Cambria Series, #1). It’s young adult fantasy, and the first book I ever wrote.

But first, the synopsis!

SYNOPSIS:

Seth Roberts is a typical teenager, that is, until his mother sends him to St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, to visit his Great Uncle Herman. In St. John’s, Seth discovers that Herman is a wizard, in fact, the son of Merlin himself. Shortly, Herman asks Seth if he would like to go on an adventure and he quickly agrees. With the help of a strange medallion, Herman sends Seth back in time to the year 1128 A.D. to Cambria, a village founded by Tristan, one of the Knights of Author’s Round Table. In Cambria, Seth meets his father and discovers his true potential, family secrets, and love. Soon, Seth finds himself on the adventure of a lifetime as he races to save Briana, the queen of Cambia, and Cambria itself.
