Next Stop on the Ruby Hood Blog Tour!

Ruby Hood Blog Tour

Welcome to the Ruby Hood Blog tour, featuring the wonderful book The Twistedly True Tale of Ruby Hood (Ruby Hood Series) by: Stephanie Greenhalgh! It's a wonderful, twisted fairytale based on the classic story Little Red Riding Hood, but Greenhalgh's book is anything but cliche! Also, be sure to scroll down to enter to win a $25 Amazon gift card, an autographed paperback or e-book copies! Take a look ...

Synopsis: In the small town of Woodsville, self-assured Ruby Hood becomes tangled in more than traditional teenage angst. With the Homecoming Dance looming, everything at Woodsville High appears normal, but things are not as they seem. Ruby meets a cute boy with a lopsided grin, Dylan Hunter. She flirts shamelessly with the football star, Kent Wolf, and finds herself in a barrage of harsh verbal altercations with his stunning yet wicked sister, Kayla Wolf. Thankfully, she finds solace in her friend, Lilly Fair. Through a series of odd and painful events, Ruby discovers her true calling and the responsibilities that come with her new power and position. Despite her heartache and sorrow, will Ruby find the inner strength not only to protect herself, but also to keep the Wood safe at all cost?

My Review: As I said above, The Twistedly True Tale of Ruby Hood, by: Stephanie Greenhalgh, is anything but cliche! She does go "over the river and through the woods" to her grandmother's house, but that just adds to the quaint ambiance of the book, reminiscent of childhood. The book begins with Ruby, who is in high school with her friends, and a visit to her grandmother's house, then everything suddenly goes supernatural from there. Ruby soon discovers that she is living in a world completely different than she thought. Ruby soon has to deal with loss and love, and coming of age in a supernatural world, and having to make her own way and her own decisions when danger is mounting. Soon, Ruby's life is interwoven within a supernatural world, fraught with danger and surprises at every turn, hunters, werewolves, witches ... and even a fairy godmother. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found myself reading faster to find out what happens next. The Twistedly True Tale of Ruby Hood is great not only for young adults, but for people of any age who misses the adventures of youth. I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next installment in this wonderful series ... and more to come from this fabulous author ... Stephanie Greenaulgh! I give it five stars.

About the Author: A born and raised Midwestern girl, Stephanie Greenhalgh, grew up in Godfrey, Illinois. She is a two-time graduate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Master’s in Education. As an avid reader, literature has always been more of a passion than a hobby for Stephanie. A few years ago, she had a story swirling around in her subconscious, so she started jotting down ideas and The Twistedly True Tale of Ruby Hood was born. At present, she has four published short stories all featured in anthologies: Betula’s Angst, Duality, Angel 101 and The Twistedly True Nightmare of Ruby (a prequel to her first novel). Stephanie currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, with her husband and two Labrador retrievers. When she’s not writing or teaching, she enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, reading, running, practicing yoga and taking long walks with her pups. According to Stephanie, the best cure for writer’s block is curling up on the couch with a good book.

My Review:
Destined Oracle is a unique blend of paranormal and fantasy, combining elements of both. I love how Martinez even creates new magical creatures, as well. The story keeps the reader interested from the first page, bringing the reader into this unique magical world. It also has elements of romance and adventure ... everything that makes a novel great. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Destined Oracle and look forward to the next book in the series.

My Haunted Blog Tour

My Haunted Blog Tour

My Haunting Love
By: J.S. Wilsoncroft

Synopsis: Calista Rose is a 16-year-old deaf girl who senses something strange in her new home. Soon she meets a ghost named John and becomes smitten with his handsome good looks and charming ways. Little does she know, falling in love with him brings out the true evil that lingers inside her home. Can she survive

My Haunting Love?

My Review: Calista Roberts, a teenage deaf girl, finds herself communicating with John, a ghost that has been dead for 40 years. He begins leaving messages for her in her ASL book and soon appears to her. The young Calista falls for the handsome John, but also uncovers mysteries surrounding his death along the way.

My Haunting Love is a great young adult book that adults will also enjoy right along with the young adults. Wilsoncroft weaves a wonderful story for young people filled with suspense and mystery, while, in Wilsoncroft style, weaving in a good romance, as well.

A very unique feature of this book is that the protagonist is deaf. Wilsoncroft allows the reader to see and "hear" the world through Calista's eyes and ears, while bringing understanding of the deaf community to hearing young adults, making young adults aware of the struggles of the hearing impaired, while interweaving it in the hearing world.

My Haunting Love is a timeless story and, as Becca Boucher said it best, "young adult gold." It's a great book that both young adults and adults will enjoy for years to come ... perfect for the Halloween season.

About the Author: J.S. Wilsoncroft was born and raised in the small town of Curwensville, Pennsylvania. Her mother and father taught her to be strong and never give up on her dreams, even though as a teenager she wasn’t sure what  those dreams were. It wasn’t until she was older that she decided she wanted some kind of job working with animals. So, at the age of 23, she got her dog grooming license and has been grooming puppies ever since. It wasn’t until five years ago that she started writing. She woke up one morning with this story on her mind and as the day grew on, so did the story. She finally decided to sit down at her computer and started typing. That’s when her first book, Roller Coaster Love was born. After that, writing stories came to her as easy as grooming dogs. Now, J.S. Wilsoncroft has her hands full being a wife, mother of two children, and three yappy dogs, full-time dog groomer, and as a part time writer.

Runaway Girl "Beat the Heat" Summer Blog Tour

"Beat the Heat" Summer Blog Tour
Runaway Girl (The Secrets of Avelina Chronicles)
by: Elaine White

Welcome to the Runaway Girl Blog tour. We have three weeks and eight fantastic blogs participating. Runaway Girl is a vampire tale unlike any other. Take a look:

A missing vampire princess. A soul fractured among five young human girls. One loyal vampire with a grudge. Can vampire soldier Damian set aside his personal feelings to follow orders? Can princess Amelia's soul be reunited in time for the meeting of the three clans? Will her brother, Matthew, fight for the right to rule? Who will prevail?

In a world populated with vampire books Elaine White gives us a completely original tale filled with complex family relationships. White takes the emphasis off the predatory human vampire relationship and instead focuses on their world. She takes us inside a complex tale of clans and politics, family vendettas and warring lands. This book is more than one story. It is many stories interwoven into one original world.

My Review:
Runaway Girl (The Secrets of Avelina Chronicles) by: Elaine White takes the reader inside the world of vampires, allowing the reader an insight into the workings of the covens and their interactions with one another … including the humans. That’s right, the humans in this world know that vampires exist, creating interesting dynamics. In fact, some humans, sympathetic to the vampire plight, even create blood banks for the vamps. In addition, colleges reserve night classes for vampires, encouraging peaceful interaction and tolerance by humans and vampires alike, but interactions are not always peaceful. Vamps in this world drink human blood and have to fight the urge to attack humans. This is not so difficult for older, more experienced vampires, but creates a challenge for young, newly created vamps. What I loved the most about this book was the expertise within which White interwove her tapestry of characters in their search to reunite the pieces of the soul of the Vampire Princess.

I loved the handsome and conflicted Dameon, and his love interest, Kaitlin. I loved seeing Dameon’s back story and his journey to find the love of his life after looking for her for hundreds of years, becoming even a surprise to him. I loved Kaitlin’s character, becoming the perfect counterpart for Dameon. I look forward to the next chapter of their story … and the story of this world. It is a must read for all vampire lovers.

 About the Author:

Elaine White was born and raised in the small town of Haddington, Scotland. She began writing from an early age when she thought that she would have written differently passages from the books she was reading.

At the age of 14, she tweaked existing stories to experiment with various writing styles. Eventually, this led to her taking a Creative Writing course and writing her own stories from scratch. Now, she finds inspiration everywhere, which has lead to numerous novels and series ranging from college romance and crime to the supernatural world of witches and vampires. Elaine currently lives at home in Scotland with her parents and boisterous poodle. She is a full time student and full time writer.
