A Knight in Shining Armor, by: Jude Deveraux

Title: A Wonderful Must read!

BOOK: A Knight in Shining Armor

AUTHOR: Jude Deveraux

STAR RATING: 5 stars

bandoned by her near fiancĂ©, lovely Dougless Montgomery lies crying on a cold tombstone in an English church. Suddenly, Nicholas Stafford, Earl of Thornwyck—the man from the tomb—appears, having “heard” her crying over 400 years.

Douglass and Nicholas are drawn together in a bond that transcends lime as they evoke on the adventure of a lifetime to save his family name. Surprising to Douglas, he wants just her, not for what she can do for them, but who she is on the inside. Can the love that transcended time last? Or will it disappear just as suddenly as he appeared?

Hailed worldwide as one of the most romantic novels of all time, A Knight in Shining Armor is “a glorious love story that spans centuries, worlds, and souls. It is the epitome of every woman’s fantasy” (Chicago Daily Herald).

CHARACTERS: Douglas Montgomery, Nicholas Stafford,

MOVIE POTENTIAL: 5 stars. Yes, please!

EASE OF READING: Very easy to become immersed in this extraordinary novel, perhaps the best time-travel romance novel of all time.

MY REVIEW: This book has it all: adventure, romance, intrigue, time travel, a sexy protagonist and an attractive woman. I have read this book several times, and have enjoyed it just as much each time.

Douglass, the daughter of wealthy parents, won’t inherit her millions until her thirtieth birthday. Her father believes in letting his daughters fend for themselves and make their own way, so they will know how to handle the money when they receive it. At the beginning, she is too eager to please everyone, too naive, and too vulnerable.

Then enters Nicholas, a sexy, charming, charismatic, well-rounded hero, who accepts her for who she is.

Through her association with Nicholas, Douglass learns how to stand up for herself, how to survive on her wits, and the courage she needs to truly enjoy her life.

This was the first book of Jude Deveraux’s that I had ever read and is truly the best of her books by far. After reading this book for the first time, I had hoped that all of her books were like this one. Not so. Although enjoyable, none compare to this wonderful time-travel romance.

Jude Deveraux’s A Knight in Shining Armor is the standard by which all time-travel romances should be modeled; a must read for readers and writers alike. I give it five stars.
